Vegetation indices (VI) are measurements of plant activity on the terrestrial surface. The EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) was developed to optimize the signal of the vegetation with greater sensitivity in regions of high biomass densities, achieving this by the separation of the signal coming from the vegetation, the soil and the atmosphere.
