The study of extreme weather and climatic phenomena is a current topic of great scientific and social interest. This problem has recently been addressed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The Expert Team on Detection and Indices of Climate Change (ETCCDI) has contributed greatly to advancing knowledge on changes in climatic extremes by formulating a set of 27 core indices of climatic extremes calculated from daily temperature and precipitation data. The series have not been homogenized. The values of the indices are shown here for all weather stations included in the RCC-SSA database. The indices have been calculated in R using the climdex.pcic package.
